Will our marriage be legal?
Yes, all our ministers are authorized by the Government of Quebec to officialize your marriage. The day of the wedding, we will supply you with a copy of the declaration of marriage (DEC 50) the original of which we will send promptly to the Director of Civil status of Québec. You will then order a copy of your marriage certificate in the same fashion that you order a birth or a death certificate.

Can FSEV marry us anywhere in Québec?
Absolutely. We are over 45 ministers throughout the province. We will celebrate your union wherever you wish us to do so.

If we are residents of another Canadian province or from a different country, can FSEV marry us in Québec?
Yes. You will be married in accordance with the Québec Civil Status. However, you verify with a legally competent party in your province or country to see how this applies in your home country or province.

Can FSEV marry us outside the province of Québec?

No. FSEV ministers can only exercise their ministry in this province.

Do we have to take marriage preparation courses?
No. FSEV does not offer nor requires these courses.

What delay should we respect before we can marry?
Legally, a 20-day publication is mandatory prior to wedding.

We are from different religious backgrounds. Can FSEV marry us anyway?
Of course. We will gladly marry couples from different religions. We do celebrate Love and Love unites the hearts of everyone; it is not subject to constraints. The universal spirit of all life benefits from our complementary or different cultures.

Do we have to get married on a Saturday?
Not at all. More and more couples choose another day to get married. We are available 365 days a year.

Can more than one couple marry at the same time?
Yes, as long as each couple agrees on the type of ceremony to be performed.
